Great Wheel Turning

These are the stories from my bones, from my bones, that tickle me all the way from my head to my toes.

These are the stories that are made out of fire, from the nights and the days when life felt so dire.

This is the making and the breaking and the end, this is the sound of the wheel turning, again.

These are the words not spoken, yet heard once the panic stopped and once more i heard birds.

Once I stopped and took stock, took a long look around, ’til I broke and set myself free and bowed down to the ground.

This is the sound that stories make when told finally, after so long, when they are ripened, with love and given, not sold.

& this is the sound of the great wheel and tides turning of women and men, of quiet hearts yearning.

This is the story of cycles and chains, this is the story of how I reclaimed me once again.
